FIFA 08

FIFA 08 (named FIFA Soccer 08 in North America) is the 2008 installment of EA Sports'series of football video games. Developed by EA Canada, it is published by Electronic Arts worldwide under the EA Sports label. It was released on all popular gaming formats in September 2007 in Europe, Australia, and Asia, and in October 2007 in North America. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game feature an improved game engine with superior graphics and different commentators and are dubbed "next-generation" by EA. On all other platforms—including the PC—the game utilizes an older engine. The Nintendo DSversion features fewer teams, stadiums, game modes and kits due to the limitations of the machine's storage medium. Commentary comes from Sky Sports' Martin Tyler and Andy Gray on next generation consoles; however, ITV Sports' Clive Tyldesley partners Gray on current generation consoles, and the PC version of the game. On the DS version of the game,Tyldesley is by himself. It also marks the first time the original Xbox has been excluded from the FIFA lineup since FIFA Football 2002.
The tagline for the game is "Can You FIFA 08?."The theme song is "Sketches (20 Something Life)" by La Rocca, from the album The Truth.

New features

New features that were not in FIFA 07 include "Be a Pro Mode", where the player plays as only one player (the player can be changed) throughout the entire match. However, this mode is not available for goalkeepers.
New features for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 include cooperative online play and a change of controls, which features the right stick as a way of selecting which player is to be on defense. However, this control setting can be changed back to the FIFA 07 configuration as well as other preset control configurations. In addition, the online mode has a new addition with interactive leagues, where players choose a league, a team, and play against real-life opponents. While not an entirely new feature, FIFA 08 includes new trick moves that can be used by using the right analog stick, which were, for the most part, absent in FIFA 07. In general, the speed of game also has decreased in FIFA 08. In the PS2 version of the game, two new features were added. The first being goalkeeper AI, which meant when in a one-on-one situation with a forward and goalkeeper, one could push the right analog stick and have complete control of the goalkeeper. The second of these was when taking a free kick you were able to push the R3 (right stick) to lock the position of the ball, while you used the stick to determine exactly where you wanted the free kick to go. These were two features that have not been used in any FIFA games since, although many users and fans have expressed their feelings to see both or one make a welcome return

FIFA 12

Winner of 20 "Best Sports Game of E3" awards, including the prestigious E3
Game Critics award, FIFA 12 brings to the pitch the game-changing new Player
Impact Engine, a physics engine built to deliver real-world physicality in
every interaction on the pitch. Experience the way real-world footballers
challenge each other for the ball, win possession, and test each other
physically. Enjoy an infinite variety of natural and believable outcomes in
every collision. Players feel more resilient, push and pull during the fight
for possession, and recover from light challenges more easily

Revolutionary gameplay innovations make FIFA 12 deeper and more engaging
All-new Precision Dribbling creates a higher fidelity of touch on the ball
for better control in tight spaces, more time to make decisions on attack,
and more control over the pace of the game. Innovations in attack are
balanced by a re-designed defending mechanism, making it as skilful and
meaningful as real-world football. With all-new Tactical Defending,
positioning and intercepting passes are as important as tackling. Tactics
and timing are crucial. Plus, CPU players have been infused with Pro Player
Intelligence, a self-awareness that enables them to behave and make
decisions based on their own skills and tendencies, and gives them the
aptitude to understand the strengths and weaknesses of teammates in every
situation

FIFA 12 (titled FIFA Soccer 12 in North America) is the nineteenth game in Electronic Arts'FIFA series of association football video games. It was developed by EA Canada, and published by Electronic Arts worldwide under the EA Sports label. David Rutter, the line producer for FIFA 12, promised "a revolutionary year for FIFA ... especially in the gameplay department..
An "Ultimate Edition" of the game will be available through Game and Gamestation stores. It includes four monthly Ultimate Team gold packs, with each pack containing 12 items including players, contracts, stadiums, managers, staff, fitness, healing, footballs, team kits and badges. Each pack contains one or more (if you are lucky) rare item, such as enhanced player attributes, longer contracts and the most coveted players. On 22 June 2011, EA Sports announced that the Microsoft Windows version of FIFA 12 will have the same engine, features, and competitions as the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.
Along with several other new EA Sports titles, FIFA 12 was available three days early to purchasers of the EA Sports Season Ticket. The release date of the FIFA 12 demo was announced at the Gamescom event in Germany on 16 August; the demo was available from Xbox Live Marketplace and EA's Origin Store for Microsoft Windows on 13 September 2011, though the PlayStation 3 demo was not available in Europe until the following day.

Commentators

Martin Tyler returns as the main commentator, with former Arsenal and England player Alan Smith as co-commentator. Smith replaces long-term FIFA contributor Andy Gray following the controversy surrounding him earlier in 2011 and his subsequent dismissal from the Sky Sports commentary team. FIFA 12 producer David Rutter described Smith as "one of the top-tier broadcasters on the UK football scene, [who will bring] a fresh, new perspective and insight ... working alongside the trusted and well-known voice of Martin Tyler" A second English commentary team will be included in the form of ITV's Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend, who will be used for tournament modes, though they can also be set as the default commentators.
Like previous versions, FIFA 12 also features commentary by Enrique "El Perro" Bermudes and Ricardo Pelaez. These two are commentators in Mexico and were added since FIFA 2006 because of the videogame's popularity in Mexico and latin-american countries, in general.
FIFA 12 will be the first in the series to be released in Arabic, with Essam El Shawaly and Abdullah Mubarak Al-Harby providing the commentary.

Covers

As with previous FIFA games, a number of different national covers are used. Most of them depict either Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney, and/or Real Madrid's Brazilian international Kaká,along with one or two other players, often from the country in question. In the UK and Ireland, Jack Wilshere of Arsenal and England is featured alongside Rooney, while Everton's Australian midfielder Tim Cahill partners Rooney and Kaká on both the Australian and Asian covers.Rooney appears for the first time on the North American cover along with Los Angeles Galaxy forward Landon Donovan and Rafael Márquez of New York Red Bulls. The French cover features Rooney alongside French stars Karim Benzema and Philippe Mexès, while the German cover only features two Germans: Mats Hummels of Dortmund and FC Köln's Lukas Podolski. The Polish game cover features, as well as Rooney, Jakub Błaszczykowski, the Polish national team captain and the midfielder for Borussia Dortmund, while the Portuguese cover features Manchester United's Portugal winger Nani alongside Kaká. Covers are also available to download from the internet, for example, a fan could go to search for their preferred club and download that cover. The cover players are also utilised in the FIFA 12 advertising campaigns, and other promotional and social media activities worldwide.EA spokesman Matt Bilbey claimed that the chosen players all "passionately play our game" and will be talking to fans about their own experiences with FIFA.

New features

Next Gen Gameplay Engine (PC): The game engine that is used for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will now be used also on the PC. Also, the "Two Button" control system, introduced in the 2010 FIFA World Cup game has carried through to FIFA 11, making it ideal for novices and new players to the series.
FIFA World (PC): This will allow the player to customize their online avatar, compete with players from all over the world and fight for positions on the leaderboard.
PC Improvements : Next-gen menu presentation is used. Manager mode from console version of FIFA 10 has been imported with some improvements. Be a pro seasons have been completely revamped. There is a new practice arena which can be accessed when exiting a game mode. There is a new 5 v 5 online team play and Pro Club Championship. Further, there is the all new Virtual Pro game mode. Players can create their game face on the official web site then download it and apply it to their virtual pro in game. 360° dribbling is also featured along with LAN play. Players can also create tactics themselves.
Pro Passing (PS3, Xbox 360): is a new passing system where the gamer's own accuracy with the control pad, as well as the situation and skills of the players on the pitch, determines the accuracy of each pass.
Creation Centre (PS3, Xbox 360): is a new web-based application which allows the user to create material to download to their console and share with their friends. Created teams, names, kits, and players can be customised and players can be edited in a more in-depth way than before. Create a player by choosing his appearance, accessories and attributes. You may also create players and edit squads on the console itself, but to create a team you must use the Creation Centre web-based application.Career Mode (PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, NDS)

: "Be a Pro Mode" and "Manager Mode" have been merged into the new "Career Mode", where the player can choose to be a player, manager, or player-manager for over 15 seasons. Many improvements have been made to Career Mode, one being that when signing new players, the user will have to agree to a transfer fee with the club, as well as other personal demands from the player; the club could also agree a fee with two teams for a player. The board of a club can decide to give the manager a contract extension or not; this will depend on certain objectives being met, or if they feel that the user has potential as a manager. The manager reputation rating is still in the game and will go up or down depending on your efforts. Regular emails will appear from the coach telling the user about player growth, and if a player is gaining or losing overall rating, the coach will also tell the user about players that are hitting form and will suggest the user include them in the starting line up for the next match, or give them a little more responsibility. On the player growth screen, the user will also get comments from the coach, such as "has reached his potential," "isn't going to grow anymore," or "could develop quickly if given game time." A new budget allocator has also been implemented, where the player can adjust the slider to whatever they desire, whether it will be a 80/20 split with £50 million to spend and £200K wage budget, or a 60/40 split, where that may be £40 million to spend and £250K wage budget. This gives some flexibility if the user is trying to buy specific players but does not have the wages to cover it, or does not need the wages and wants more free cash. There is a limit, however; when doing this, the user will get the notification that this is only available three times per season, so the player must make their decisions wisely. It is also now possible to view results and standings from other leagues around the world, following a similar feature that was on the official 2010 FIFA World Cup game. It still is not possible to manage an international team.
Street Football (Wii):

Players can now play 5 vs. 5 street football, as well as the traditional 11 vs. 11. Each street player has a distinctive style of play with unique abilities to match.
Goalkeeper Intelligence (All Platforms):

Goalkeepers now have more urgency and better perception of where to intercept loose balls, resulting in a more responsive and powerful rushing system. Goalkeepers are now more agile and can make more impressive saves. New animation warping technology provides game-realistic goalkeeper positioning and momentum, resulting in more varied scoring opportunities.
Be a Goalkeeper (PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, PSP):

EA Sports released a FIFA 11 trailer with the slogan "We Are 11." The trailer confirmed that it's possible to play as a goalkeeper in FIFA 11, and it is also possible to play 11 vs. 11 online matches.
Manual Leaderboard:

It has been confirmed that there will be a separate leaderboard this year for players that use the manual control setup.
Improved Celebrations (PS3, Xbox 360):

Celebrations will now use the in-game camera rather than separate cutscenes. It is also confirmed that teammates can now join in celebrations. Also, only more skilled or acrobatic players can perform the more acrobatic celebrations, such as a back flip. FIFA 11 also includes players' signature celebrations, which they can perform with a simple push of a button.
360° Dribbling (PS3, Xbox 360, PC):

True 360° dribbling system will provide finer dribbling control, enabling players to find space between defenders that previously was not possible.

Ultimate Team

Following on from previous FIFA games, FIFA 11 Ultimate Team was released on PS3 and Xbox 360 on 3 November 2010. It is available for free download from the PlayStation Store or Xbox Live Marketplace. In the game itself, players purchase packs of cards with in-game money. These packs contain random players and other items, such as balls and kits, and players have to win football matches in order to earn coins, to purchase new players. There are other ways to make money, such as buying players and other items cheaply and selling them on for a higher price. Also, with Microsoft points on the Xbox 360 you can buy packs of silver or gold players, staff and items. Returning users to Ultimate Team receive two complimentary Gold packs. It has been praised for its creativity, and likeness to eBay, in that it has live auctions, where player items needed from other players.
This has also been likened to the real life Football market, where other managers are constantly trying to outbid each other for the best players and staff. Also, people could play their friends in this new friend mode. Players can be found in packs according to their real life transfers, for example the Fernando Torres Chelsea card appeared in packs after he was transferred from Liverpool or the Edin Dzeko transfer from Wolfsburg to Man City. These updates can be useful for the chemistry side of the game, allowing new partnerships, for example if you have a Dzeko card from before the transfer, when he was at German club Wolfsburg, then he would have no chemistry with Manchester City players such as Tevez or Yaya and Kolo Toure. However if you have a post-transfer card, with Man City as his club, then he will link up with the Man City players as well as other Premier League players. He will lose all Bundesliga connections as well, so he would not connect with his old teammate at Wolfsburg, Grafite, or anybody else at the Bundesliga.
