As of late February 2012, the Glasgow Airport Rail Link, North East Corridor, Portland Terminal (from G-Trax), and Horseshoe Curce routes (& content) have been done.

Each of them can perform a shoulder charge and can throw luxo balls at targets or enemies. In the Buzz Video Game level, Buzz can use his laser to shoot enemies and crystals, and in other levels, this move is absent. Certain levels require players to switch between them to clear the levels. There are two main modes, Story and Toybox. Story mode consists of nine levels and follows the events of the movie (as well as the opening videogame sequence from Toy Story 2). In Toybox mode, titled Woody's Roundup, players can create and customize levels and fill it with inhabitants and missions. By completing various objectives within this world, players can earn money to unlock new objects and expand their city. Plot

Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Wii and Mac OSX Version
The game focuses on the adventures of the toys of a boy named Andy: a sheriff cowboy doll named Woody, a cowgirl doll called Jessie, a stuffed horse called Bullseye, a toy space ranger called Buzz Lightyear (Buzz for short), Hamm the Piggy Bank, Rex the toy T-Rex (Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head are excluded from the game) and Slinky the dog. The game starts as Woody stares out at a passing train. He realizes it is s of tied-up orphans and goes to rescue them. As he jumps on Bullseye, he encounters the Evil Dr, Pork Chop (who is actually Hamm). After a chase after the train, Woody has to save the orphans, in the same time trying to defeat Dr. Pork Chop. As Woody makes his way to the head of the train, he rescues the orphans, giving them to Buzz. He then defeats Dr. Porkchop by damaging his flying saucer. It is revealed it is just a story Hamm is telling the toys of the toys' new owner, a girl called Bonnie. Hamm then continues the story, with the assistance of Slinky and Rex.
Years later, Andy is off to college, and they decide to have one last shot to have him play with them, and plan to attract him using the house's phones. They send Rex to the basement to the home phone to make a call to Andy's cellphone, while they go get the cell phone itself. However, after they finish getting Andy's cell phone, Rex does not call the cell phone, so they go to the basement themselves. Using Sarge's toy soldiers, they get the phone down, and tell Sarge and his men to bring the phone back to Andy's room while they go find Rex, who was busy playing a Buzz Lightyear video game(which appears in the opening scene of Toy Story 2). The plan fails, so they go to Sunnyside Daycare, where they are greeted by a teddy bear called Lot'so Huggin Bear (or Lotso), who has prepared a "Welcome New Toys" carnival in honor of their arrival, giving them fun games to play. Woody still thinks he should be with Andy, and escapes from Sunnyside, but ends up at Bonnie's house, where Bonnie plays with him along with her other toys, making up a story of how a witch destroys the house. Woody dodges the witches attacks. The witch destroys the house, but Woody finds a spaceship which they can escape in, and after powering it up with batteries, he escapes with the toys.
Meanwhile, back at Sunnyside, Lotso's bad side is revealed, and he locks the toys up in high security cells, with patrolling trucks and spotlights guarding them. Woody returns to the rescue, and with the help of the advice given by a toy phone, he manages to free the toys and escape.
The toys end up in a garbage truck and are sent to the dump. Buzz, Jessie, Woody end up on a conveyor belt heading toward a shredder. Jessie and Woody escape the conveyor belt and manage to stop it while Buzz (who was programmed back to normal) saves the three squeeze toy aliens. They find that the other toys are stuck on a piece of trash on a conveyor belt headed for the incinerator. They team up to stop the conveyor belt. Buzz stops the machine by throwing a cube of trash into the machine, causing an explosion, stopping the conveyor belt, and instead of going to Andy's they go to stay at Bonnie's place.
PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable Version
Rex looks back at the toy's past encounters with the help of his drawings, and tells the story of the film.
Andy is going to college, and hasn't played with the toys in years, so the toys decide to get his attention using the Andy's mobile phones. However, the plan fails, and Andy merely takes the phone from Rex's hand and closes the toy box. Andy's mother tells Andy to start packing for college. Andy decides to bring Woody to college and puts the other toys in a trash bag, and plans to put them in the attic. But before Andy can, his mother puts the bag on the curve, mistaking it for trash. The toys escape the bag thanks to Rex's tail and go to the garage to hide. Buzz decides to go to Sunnyside Daycare with the toys so they can be played with once again. Woody rushes down to tell the toys about the mistake, but Andy's mom comes and drives them to the daycare center.
Woody decides to go back to Andy, but gets stuck in a tree in the process and is brought home by a girl named Bonnie. Meanwhile, the other toys meet a friendly strawberry scented bear named Lotso, who places them in the caterpillar room. The toys realize that the kids in the caterpillar room are too young to play toys and the kids damage the toys. Buzz decides to go ask Lotso for a transfer to the Butterfly room, but Lotso refuses and switches Buzz to demo mode, making Buzz think he's a real Space Ranger again and locks his friends up for being minions of Zurg. Woody learns of this from Chuckles, one of Bonnie's toys and returns to Sunnyside and helps the toys escape, but they end up in a garbage truck going to the dump.
In the dump, they nearly fall into the incinerator, but are saved by the squeeze toy aliens, who use a crane to save them. The toys decide to return to Andy's home using a garbage truck, but Buzz falls out and ends up on top of a car several trucks, car and motor-bikes away from the garbage truck, but manages to join the gang after jumping through vehicles to the truck.
Back home, Woody decides that they should go to Bonnie's place and changes the words on the toys' box. Andy reluctantly gives the toys to Bonnie.
As Rex looks as his pictures, Jessie's tells them that Bonnie is home. Rex happily leaves, preparing for playtime.

Development

Toy Story 3 was first announced at E3 in 2010, along with the app for the iPhone and iPod touch that lets fans play, personalize and stay connected to Toy Story. Disney Interactive later announced the Exclusive Content for the PS3 version on the game's release, including the ability to play as Emperor Zurg or unlock additional mini-games designed specifically for PlayStation Move motion controller.
According to an interview with the developers of the game, the developers wanted to give Pixar choices rather than dictate play, so they offered two pitches when they went to the studio with ideas in 2008. The first was a more traditional treatment of a movie licence game, where the player retells the film and hit the big beats of the story. The second pitch was this free-form mode which they called the Toy Box mode. Pixar loved the ideas and suggested that they develop both.

Reception

Critical Response

Toy Story 3 has received generally positive reviews. IGN scored the PS3 and Xbox 360 version an 8.0, while scoring the Wii version a 7.5.GameSpot gave 7.0 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 version. The Official Nintendo Magazine scored the Wii and DS versions 80% saying that it was one of its kind but had horrendous voice acting which contrasts with IGN's review, who said the voice acting was "superb". Nintendo Power gave the Wii version a 7.5, calling it "surprisingly fun", while Game Informer had given the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions an 8, and the Wii version a 6/10, being the game's lowest score. Game Informer criticized the Wii version for its graphical downstep and "neutered Toy Box mode" (vs. PS3 and Xbox 360 version) where in this version "the missions are too repetitive, customization is barren, and its only 1-player, leaving in its place an eternal slog of fetching items."

Sales

Toy Story 3 was a top-seller in the UK. Toy Story 3 claimed its third week at number one of the UK s-price software charts over the weekend, whilst its big-screen counterpart also held onto the Box Office top spot.

the sims 3 is a 2009 strategic life simulation computer game developed by The Sims Studioand published by Electronic Arts. It is the sequel to the best-selling computer game, The Sims 2. It was first released on June 2, 2009 simultaneously for Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows. The Sims 3 was released to home consoles on October 26, 2010, for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, iOS, Android and Nintendo DS and later the Wii platform on November 15, 2010. There is also a Nintendo 3DS version, released on March 27, 2011, as one of its launch titles. It has also been released for mobile phone platforms, and a simpler version for mobiles with Java.

The Sims 3, an instant success, sold 1.4 million copies in its first weekCritics issued mostly positive reviews. The Sims 3 gained an 86/100 score from aggregator Metacritic. The game has sold over ten million copies worldwide since its 2009 release, making it one of the best-selling computer games of all time.

Gameplay

Two sims interacting withThe Sims 3: Pets (PC) each other

The Sims 3 is built upon the same concept as its predecessors. Players control their own Sims in activities and relationships in a similar manner to real life. The game play is open-ended and indefinite. Sim houses and neighborhoods are entirely in one continuous map. The developers stated, "What you do outside your home now matters as much as what you do within." One of the biggest changes to the franchise is the use of rabbit-holes. Your sim isn't allowed to go inside the majority of city buildings; instead, they simply disappear inside for a certain amount of time--a feature known in video games as a rabbit-hole--while you are given very basic choices on what happens insidThe Sims 3: Pets (PC)
e without actually seeing it. This was a rather large step backwards for The Sims franchise, as the previous installments had many fun and exciting locales in which your sims could cavort. For example, instead of walking your sim and her date inside a restaurant and watching the waiter serve them dinner as they nuzzle each other at the table, as you could in The Sims 2, you now wait outside while getting little text alerts about your sim's activities. This lack of interaction with the city has led many critics to wonder why such emphasis was put on walking around town when there's hardly anything for your sim to really do.
The Sims 2 used a reward system called Wants and Fears. This is replaced with a new system called Wishes in The Sims 3. Fulfilling a Sim's wish contributes to the Sim's Lifetime Happiness score and mood. Some wishes, such as "Go to the Park", may add little points to their lifetime happiness while "Have A Baby Boy" may add thousands of points. In The Sims 2, Wants and Fears also contributed to a Sim's "Aspiration" meter, roughly analogous to current self-esteem. In The Sims 3, Aspiration is removed entirely, replaced with "Moodlets", which contribute positive or negative values to the original Motivation meter. Moodlets can be inspired by physical events, such as having a good meal or comfort from sitting in a good chair, as well as emotional events like a first kiss or a break-up. Most moodlets last for a set duration, but some negative Moodlets can be cured (such as the one incurred by an urgent need to urinate) and some positive ones rely on the Sim's surroundings and traits.
The game includes an optional feature called "Story Progression," which allows all Sims in the neighborhood to autonomously continue as if the player were controlling them, such as grow up, get married, get jobs and promotions, have children, build or buy their dream house while the player isn't playing. Sims live for a set duration of time (adjustable by the player) and advance through several stages (baby, toddler, child, teen, young adult, adult, and elder). Sims can die of old age or they can die prematurely from causes such as fire, starvation, drowning, electrocution, (as of the World Adventures expansion pack) The Mummy's curse, (as of the Ambitions expansion pack) a meteor, and (as of the Late Night expansion pack) by thirst (vampires only). One of the major new additions to gameplay is Opportunities, tasks that Sims can complete to earn rewards. These challenges occur randomly based on aspects of each Sim's lifestyle, such as relationships, skills and job. Career opportunities such as working overtime or completing special tasks can yield a pay raise, cash bonus, or relationship boost. Skill opportunities are requests by neighbors or community members for Sims to solve problems using their acquired skills for cash or relationship rewards. If the opportunity is connected to a Sim's school, the reward may be increased school performance

The Sims 3: Pets

The Sims 3: Pets is the fifth expansion pack for The Sims 3 on PC and Mac, and is the second console game in the series. It was released on October 18, 2011 in North America.

Development

On June 3, 2011, EA confirmed the rumors with a press release and a game trailer which was released on their Official YouTube Channel. The Sims 3: Pets expansion pack is focused around adding animals to the game. The player creates their pet in a similar fashion to the 'Create A Sim' feature. The 'Create A Pet' feature allows the player to customise their pets in various ways, including selecting a breed and a set of traits for their pets.

Unlike in Sims 2: Pets and The Sims: Unleashed, the player can directly control pets. Pets, unlike sims, do not have jobs or a 'lifetime wish'. Included in the expansion pack is a new town 'Apaloosa Plains'. The limited edition of The Sims 3 Pets, which must be pre-ordered, includes a pet shop which will not be included in the normal edition of the game. It has also been proven in a patch for the game that the new creature will be a unicorn unless changed.

On June 8, 2011, Ben Bell gave a presentation and demonstration previewing Pets that was streamed over EA's website. He also answered questions regarding the Expansion Pack. The demonstration contained parts of the game that had never been seen before by the public. The event took place on Wednesday June 8, 2011 at 17:00 UTC. In their E3 hands-on preview with the Pet Creator Tool, GameMarshal was able to uncover that your pets can mate and produce off-spring, although no cross-species breeding is allowed, genetics would be passed down to pet offspring, and you'll be able to assign unique characteristics to your pets.

Gameplay

In Pets, there is a new town, called Appaloosa Plains. The new town comes with every building in the base game, as well as new stores and shops. In the Limited Edition, the town also comes with a pet store. The expansion comes with new rabbit holes, as well as old rabbit holes with new designs. Every pet will have its own special needs. Sims can also play with laser pointers for playing with cats. Unicorns, if found, in the game are magical and can be added to a sim's household. They can set things on fire, teleport, curse or bless sims. They can breed with both unicorns and horses. Sims up into their teenage years can ride with horses. Dogs can swim in swimming pools, but they can not drown, as pets can only die by old age. A user can have up to 6 pets in one household. This also extends the maximum amount of sims in a household from 8 to 10.

There are new professions for sims such as "Horse Handler". Pets also comes with wildlife, but they cannot be added to households. There are also ways for sims to interact with their pets. Players can use their horses as a form of transportation. Sims can adopt and bathe pets. They can also have dogs and cats go around town and sniff for collectables. These collectables can be sold or stored in terrariums. Pets can learn skills. Cats and dogs can learn to hunt, dogs can learn to locate collectibles, and horses can learn racing and jumping. There are over a hundred breeds of dogs and cats. Players may have a poodle with short hair, or you may also have a Poodle with Dalmatian spots.Pets can meet, fall in love and reproduce. They can try to have puppies, kittens, or foals, and will also have family trees. Players can adopt horses and train them to run in races. The PC version will be bundled in a package with the base game as The Sims 3 Plus Pets.

Pets

There are four pets which can be created in Pets - dogs, cats, horses, and unicorns!

Create a Pet

In Pets, players are able to create, customize and control over a hundred different kinds of cats and dogs and can breed and share them with friends. Create a Pet and Create a Sim are all in one mode, with different dressing room backgrounds. Players can customize the pet’s coat, shape, pattern, and color. They can change the ears, tail, snout, eyes, and much more. Pets allows players to go even further than customizing their pet’s look. A pet's behavior patterns and traits are also sy customizable. There is also an Advanced Mode for the Create a Pet mode. In it, users can put different layers on the body of their pets, such as dots and/or stripes. Pets have the same age sliders that were introduced with Generations. There is no height slider for pets, due to animation conflicts in the game. Players not only get to choose the dominant pattern but they also get to pick an accessory pattern and both can be colored. In horses, the mane and tail color are independent of the main color of the horse. Players can also add colorful markings on their fur and slide them around on their Sims' pets bodies.Markings are also in layers and can be placed in any order.

Dogs

Dogs can be obtained when created with the household, or can be adopted by computer or cell phone after the household has already been created. Sims who are giving them away will also put an advertisement in the newspaper. Sims will occasionally encounter stray dogs. These dogs can be befriended and adopted by the player. Most popular dog breeds are offered in the game. Breed has nothing to do within gameplay except the appearance of offspring. The reinforcement social system is used to correct bad behaviors and to praise good ones. Getting by with no punishment for bad behavior can lead a dog to take on that trait. Both dogs and cats can obtain fleas while outdoors. These make them very uncomfortable, and they can pass them to other pets and sims. When grown up, adult dogs can learn tricks, guard the house, and hunt for objects. They can be taught six tricks: sit, sit up, play dead, roll over, speak, and shake. Dogs can also be taught to hunt. They cannot learn on their own, but if taught, they can sniff out gems, metals and bones.

Cats

As with dogs, cats can be either created with the household or adopted later on in the game. The breed of cats does not matter in gameplay, although many popular breeds are also offered. Scolding and praising a cat will influence the traits it will develop. Like dogs, cats can also hunt. Cats can learn how to hunt using a toy from the animal toy box, unlike dogs, they cannot be taught to hunt by their owners. Cats can hunt small pets. Unlike dogs, they cannot sniff out gems, stones, or metals. They also have the ability to fish.

Horses

Horses can be created with the household, adopted using a computer or telephone, or bought from the Equestrian Center. Horses usually die of old age, but fires and meteors can kill them as well. The Jockey is the sole horse related Lifetime Wish in the Pets expansion. To accomplish it, the player will need to max the riding skill as well as earn 40,000 simoleons from your horses (racing, sales, stud services, etc). Horse breeds do not affect sale price. Horses can learn two skills - racing and jumping. Wild horses appear in herds (usually of two or three, depending on neighborhood size) in home neighborhoods, but not in exotic destinations such as Champs Les Sims. Wild horses can be befriended. It's easier to befriend them if the Sim has a high (hidden) Wildlife skill. Horses are the first non-"human" Sims to have their own occult status, appearing also as unicorns. Horses and unicorns can breed together, with a chance of the offspring also being a unicorn. Unlike cats or dogs in the game, horses can be sold. The higher the horse's skills and the more money they have earned racing means a larger amount of money they can be sold for. Elderly horses can be sold. Horses can ONLY be found in the PC/Mac version of the Pets Expansion Pack.

Appaloosa Plains

Downtown Appaloosa Plains showing mainly the Crestview School and Stadium and the Appaloosa Plains Civic Center.

Appaloosa Plains is the name of the new town in The Sims 3: Pets. It is set to be a ranch style town with new farm and barn style items in Build and Buy mode. The new location is set in a beautiful Midwestern ranching town nestled between lush green hills, where players can let their dogs and cats run loose in the park or spend time riding horses at the equestrian center. Players will be able to build their own stable on residential lots. There are new versions of the grocery store, hospital, theater, bistro, stadium, school, spa, equestrian center, cat jungle gym, and parks. There is also a small Dive Bar, however it requires the Late Night expansion pack. Appaloosa Plains was a cowboy ranch town in the Midwest, on the edge of the highway, and is named after the Appaloosa breed of horse. On the edge of the town can be found a dinosaur skeleton where dogs can collect bones and search for treasure.

At one point Appaloosa Plains was a sleepy ranching township, its only claim to fame being a garish tourist trap that drew in the occasional passerby. However, a recent influx of city slickers has turned the area into a bustling hub of activity. They keep arriving with their stacks of Simoleons, retrofitting the town with modern amenities while eagerly believing they've acquired their own slice of country paradise. The clash between the old and new is readily apparent, with some elderly die-hards clinging to the remaining vestiges of life as they knew it. Will the town come together in the new era of prosperity, or will the generational clash leave a clear line drawn in the sand?

Pet Traits

As with Sims, players are able to choose traits for their pets. However, unlike regular Sims, a player can only select up to 3. Sims can train their pet behaviors through the pet doing related action to the trait or praising/scolding them. If the pet has been trained well enough they can develop a "trained" trait. The difference between the usual pet trait is a highlighted green box around the trait icon. Trained traits can be lost if a Sim trains their pet the opposite behaviors. It is possible for a pet to have more than 5 traits. Since Horses are not featured in the console version, all pet traits that are exclusive for horses will not be available on the console version. Pets created in Create a Pet can have up to 3 traits. If the player buys the Attitude Adjustment Lifetime reward they can add 2 more traits, in which the total number of traits is 5. If a pet with more than 5 traits moves to another world, they will lose all their "trained" traits. Only the first 5 traits on the pet's bio list will still remain.

Reception

Upon release in North America, The PC and Mac versions of The Sims 3: Pets got positive reviews, with IGN rating the game 7.5/10. The console version (360,PS3), also getting a similar score, with IGN giving it a rating of 7/10.

There has also been some issues regarding user-created mods that stopped working properly on the expansion pack. This has been attributed to the developers switching to an in-house animation engine from the proprietary Granny 3D toolkit that they used in the earlier versions of The Sims 3. There are also some problems regarding glitches in the game. Some reported are, problems creating a pet, problems involving graphics, and crashing.
